Users enjoyed curated offerings from local restaurants and neighborhood stores, with free delivery, discounts, and a focus on convenience

Key Features

  • Fast delivery from restaurants and local grocers

  • Curated neighborhood store listings under one platform

  • Multiple payment options and in-app discount offers

  • Merchant onboarding perks, including POS integrations and promotional support

User Story

A resident in Abu Dhabi places an order and receives groceries or a meal within minutes via the Labaiik app.

A local grocer or small restaurant integrates with the platform and benefits from increased visibility and simplified order management.

Strategy & Impact

High early user engagement through promotions
Labaiik stood out in the crowded UAE market by offering free delivery and generous 50% discounts, attracting users who were otherwise paying with delivery fees on other platforms. This strategy fueled rapid initial adoption.
Niche market visibility with competitive branding
Although smaller than giants like Talabat or Careem, Labaiik was listed among the top 10 delivery apps in the UAE, demonstrating credible market presence within a $1.25 billion food delivery industry handling over 500,000 daily orders.
Enhanced customer experience at launch
Users appreciated its intuitive interface and service quality in early stages, with one user stating:

Promotions drive trial—but retention needs consistency
Discounts and free delivery generate interest, but without reliable service and broad availability, initial users drop off quickly. Positive first impressions must be backed by operational dependability

Local focus can differentiate—but scale is critical
Curated neighborhood delivery delivered uniqueness, yet limited geographic or brand coverage hampered growth. Competing with major players required greater reach and broader offerings

Results

  • Provided fast, accessible food and grocery delivery across coverage areas with an emphasis on neighborhood stores.

  • Attracted early adoption through free delivery and deep discounts.

  • Enabled digital storefront access for small merchants with manageable commission structures.

  • Despite initial traction and user interest, operations were reportedly discontinued around November 202
